Vintage Life Magazines

I saw a magazine article about a year ago of a wedding dress designer who made vintage lace wedding gowns and I absolutely loved them! Now that I’m actually getting married I can’t for the life of me remember the designer. I’m pretty sure the article was in Cosmo.
What I’m looking for is this:
V-neck, lace all over, mermaid style, with or without beading
This website I looked at had these kind of dresses exactly. If anyone knows the designer I’m thinking of or a designer with similar styles I’d love the help!

Cult Magazines: A to Z $19.95 Exploring the subcultures of mid-20th-century America, this encyclopedia comprehensively documents the huge quantity of cult magazines that thrived beneath the mainstream. The Oxford Critical and Cultural History of Modernist Magazines, 1 $180 The first full study of the role of 'little magazines' and their contribution to the making of artistic modernism. A major scholarly achievement of immense value to teachers, researchers and students interested in the material culture of the first half of the 20th century and the relation of the arts to social modernity. – ;The first of three volumes charting the history of the Modernist Magazine in Britain, North America, and Europe, this collection offers the first comprehensive study of the wide and varied range of 'little magazines' which were so instrumental in introducing the new writing and ideas that came to constitute literary and artistic modernism in the UK and Ireland. In thirty-seven chapters covering over eighty magazines expert contributors investigate the inner dynamics and economic and intellectual conditions that governed the life of these fugitive but vibrant publications. We learn of the role of editors and sponsors, the relation of the arts to contemporary philosophy and politics, the effects of war and economic depression and of the survival in hard times of radical ideas and a belief in innovation. The chapters are arranged according to historicalthemes with accompanying contextual introductions, and include studies of the New Age, Blast, the Egoist and the Criterion, New Writing, New Verse , and Scrutiny as well as of lesser known magazines such as the Evergreen, Coterie, the Bermondsey Book, the Mask, Welsh Review, the Modern Scot, and theBell. To return to the pages of these magazines returns us a world where the material constraints of costs and anxieties over censorship and declining readerships ran alongside the excitement of a new poem or manifesto. This collection therefore confirms the value of magazine culture to the field of modernist studies; it provides a rich and hitherto under-examined resource which both brings to light the debate and dialogue out of which modernism evolved and helps us recover the vitality and potentialof that earlier discussion. - |

Time-Life Music: Treasury of Christmas – Holiday Memories $9.99 Even though it includes some of the same songs, this isn’t the Time-Life Christmas collection advertised annually on TV. It’s actually a budget version of that anthology, and not a bad deal at all. Some may argue it’s missing the two Elvis Presley tracks found on the three-CD TV version. Others will contend that any self-respecting Christmas music aficionado probably already owns (or should own) E… |

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly: A Memoir of Life in Death $5.99 We’ve all got our idiosyncrasies when it comes to writing–a special chair we have to sit in, a certain kind of yellow paper we absolutely must use. To create this tremendously affecting memoir, Jean-Dominique Bauby used the only tool available to him–his left eye–with which he blinked out its short chapters, letter by letter. Two years ago, Bauby, then the 43-year-old editor-in-chief of E… |
