Visa called me an entered me in some contest. Scam?

I just received a call from Visa saying I was entered into some kind of dream sweepstakes with chances to win some sort of cash prize, a car, or a trip for 4 to Australia. At the end the lady told me that they would be sending me a watch and magazines which I said I did not want because they wanted me to help out with $4.99 a month for the Rolling Stones magazine subscription or something. Is this sweepstakes for real or not because I did a search and could not find it. I have contacted my bank since I don’t know how to contact Visa. Has anyone else received these calls? They didn’t ask for my card number or anything so I don’t know what to make of it.
Just called Visa and they informed me that they never make calls to customers. So It’s a good thing I didn’t give out my card number or anything.

I used to work for a crooked telemarketing company and know this is a scam because this is just one of the several approaches they took to getting what they called “customers.” I must tell you to be VERY worried as they already have your card information and in some cases they charge you even if you told them no. VISA, MC, AMEX, etc. never call their customers about sweepstakes, magazines, and cheap watches. I urge you to check your account statement this moment and keep an eye on it for the next several months.
