There is a relatively well-known photographer who created this workshop for me and three other people. Here are details on the workshop: We will work through four modules in the two Saturdays. The first Saturday we will move on Camera Handling and exposure, these two modules are the foundation and we will spend whatever time we need until each of you understands and the other Saturday, we will cover composition and Flash Photography. He charge $ 80 for everything. The classes last from 09:00-12. Is it pretty much what photography classes are worth? Do I get a good deal? Or do I get jipped? He recognized county I met him at an annual exhibition photographer, where he gave free workshops. He also has the most children do photgraphy and my ultimate goal for photography (as it is good to set goals) would be to shoot at least a few things for National Geographic Magazine. I know that you can laugh or say what but hey, "aims high country high "
Yes, it is a fair price and you will learn a lot if you pay attention. I teach classes like this for my town and charge roughly the same amount. My class is very basic. It is designed for beginners to get a feel for the camera and a basic understanding of photographic principles. My goal is to get students to be competent to use their camera in manual mode for a wide range of topics. That's what I cover. Day one: Get familiar with the cameras menus and what all the buttons and wheel do. Define ISO, aperture, shutter speed and how they relate to each other. I use old manual film cameras to show this. The reason is that you can open up again and see the shutter move. The old lenses have manual aperture control so you can actually see how the aperture works. Unlike into a modern lens, when the aperture is controlled electronically. The I explain how the internal light meter works. I have the students put the camera in manual mode. Then change the settings To see how the light meter is moving. We then do various experiments to show how the shutter speed and aperture effect picture. I give the students a simple task to take some pictures with a manual mode that we will critique at the next class. Day Two: Recap day one and answer questions. I will criticize their pictures from the job from day one. We then discuss shooting situations. We discuss how to shoot portraits, sports, landscapes, etc. We then discuss lenses and other equipment. What they used and why we use them. I usually have each student try my camera with different lenses, so they can see what they do. I will also provide lens recommendations. Day three: Replace the cap and answer questions. So we usually take a field trip. We just walk around town taking photos. I am there to help and answer questions. I have handouts that I give the students at the end of class, covering everything we talked about. I do not cover the flash photography or anything else in detail. My goal is to get students to understand the manual exposure. If you can not do it, so all other things are useless. I only have to cover other subjects in more advanced classes.

National Geographic Challenge! (PS3) $19.99 National Geographic Challenge comes with the imprimatur of one of the world’s oldest and most respected scientific publications in a bid to make planetary exploration both educational and fun. On the video game side, the game was developed by Gusto Games (which put together John Daly's ProStroke Golf, among others) which has managed to create a gaming experience that also makes use of the massive video and knowledge libraries of National Geographic magazine. National Geographic Challenge features both single player and multiplayer Quiz games to test and grow the players’ knowledge of their world. It also comes with a competitive two-player Puzzle Battle to pit wits. For the younger player (and maybe the more mature) there are also richly detailed Jigsaws to complete. This features alongside a set of puzzle-form mini-games. At the heart of the experience is ‘Explorer mode’ in which up to four players compete to claim territories on the planet. Unlike Risk however, this global domination is achieved by correctly answering questions as well as competing in the puzzle based mini-games. |
