Is "Indie Slate" magazine any good?
I am thinking of getting someone (a freelance photographer / editor), a subscription to "Indie Slate, "but I do not know anything about it, and amazon.com has no reviews. I've tried googling it but have not really come up with much. Does anyone know anything about it?
I have a subscription and have found it to be useful. The "Reel Islands" section contains multiple stories each month from true independent filmmakers who have made functions, and these stories have a lot of useful tips (from technology to marketing tips for distribution opportunities) that indie filmmakers can find valuable. OTOH, it's also about one third advertising / production guides. Just FYI. The contents of mag is good, though.
