So I had a friend who worked at one of these magazine subscription sites that you know gimic you supposedly save sooo much money by subscribing for two years .. blah blah blah. Well my friend told me to sign up as I did and yes I know it was stupid, but he needed a leash. I did all the information and where I chatted with her supervior I asked her if I can cancel anytime, she said well we and I quote, "tell you to stay with company ", as I said, I understand that. I've tried now for almost six months to cancel this subscription, which I have been told that I can not cancel. I have never signed a contract and I thought there would be a way we have it to pay an early cancellation fee or something. My friend told me simply to stop paying them, as I have, and they will go away because they can not hold me to something I never legally signed on. Is there anyway I can get them to stop calling for me to collections when I tried to cancel more than 25 times?

Yes, Ryan's mother is correct. If you have not already, you should write them a letter (save a copy for personal use as you ultimately have to send this letter – and all correspondence – to the Better Business Bureau) to request cancellation of your subscription. Immediately after, go to the Better Business Bureau online and file your complaint. Nobody wants a complaint file with the BBB, as it becomes part of their permanent record.
