Is this the beginning of identity theft or fraud? What should I do?

Each season a new and different magazine subscription coming to our house is marked to Jennifer Mahar … but we do not know who it is. It's like she tries to create the illusion that she lives here. We have gone to local authorities who do not understand why someone would complain about free magazines. (Not too bright, just lazy or both) Could this be the beginning of identity theft, a kind of fraud?

Police is probably not really interested because it could be anything, and they can not really do anything until something happens. I have owned or rented and many houses where no just come by post. It was a previous tenant / owner. Magazine companies sometimes just send leaves long after a subscription has expired hope that the person renews. I talking years. Call or email the company and talk to them. It will determine whether this is a new subscription or an old one. They will be happy to hear from you. If it is new, you want to know. Post Office could engage. Tell them you do not want mail delivered to you with this name. Alternatively you can write something like "addressee unknown" on it and leave it in your box for the postman to collect and return. Yes it could be someone messing with you. But you said the season …. not all the time. So it's unlikely. But if you get something in your box, except magazines, which will beg another question, Everybody in the household to run credit reports. Just to kontrollere.-Bills, and should all be ripped up before they go in the trash-no personal information over the phone …. EVER It's probably nothing but better safe than sorry.
