I live near the University of North Texas. A school age girl was selling magazine subscriptions for a group to visit a college. She said that they all have different tasks, and she was stuck with selling magazines. She said she had only had any more subscriptions. When I asked how much the subscriptions, she said they were all different prices. When I said I actually had no extra money to grant, she said most people just give a donation. I apologized and said I really could not afford it. Was this legit? She said it was "south shore" something … I think South Coast Promotions. She had a laminated card with different leaves with points in each.
It reminds me of too many years ago in Africa, where it was difficult to get the magazines when I fell for something of this kind and sign a subscription offered by another young American girl. The leaves never came from the place in Addis Ababa, which purported to be arrange this. I think the only people you can get bona fide subscriptions from the publishers of these magazines.
