Is an agreement over the phone legally binding?

This business publishers called me at work, they asked me a few questions, and they said I get a free magazine subscription and that I only had to pay shipping, which turned out to be 29.99 per month. I just wanted to get them out of the phone, because I were at work. I helped customers at the same time. They said I would get everything in writing first as I never did. Now keep calling me and telling me that I owe them money. When I wrote their name in the search engine all that popped up were complaints about them. ok so my question is I actually do not owe them anything right?

Hello From a legal standpoint, the basic necessity for a contract to come into existence is that there is a need for a meeting of minds. In accordance with contract law there are two things. First, one party makes an offer to another party, he called the provider and the person to whom he makes the offer is called the offer. For the contract concluded and thus be binding on the parties, the offeree has to convey his acceptance of the offer. Acceptance can take various forms, orally or in writing are two examples. In your case it is not clear. If you agreed to pay the amount on the phone, this would mean that you have entered into a valid and binding contract. If you however, agree to contract on condition that the contract would only be binding if you had received the papers and thus were able to sign the papers, so if you have not yet signed those papers, the contract is not binding. A further question is, have you received any of the magazines? And how much are they consuming from you?
