Beat the heat with homemade ice cream back in 1991, tourists discovered an Iceman frozen into the side of a glacier in the Austrian Alps. Nicknamed Ötzi the area where he was found, was the Iceman considered to have died about 5,300 years ago. He died wearing a cloak made of woven grass, a bearskin hat and shoes with bearskin soles. He carried with him a copper ax and a quiver of arrows used for hunting and warfare.
What are some easy child-friendly recipes?

I'm in such a track! I just need some ideas for relatively easy meals to prepare. I have cookbooks and magazines and stuff, but a lot of the things my children would not suffer. What are some of your favorite recipes? Things I make too much chicken pot pie, chili and spaghetti.

How about grilled cheese? You can always slice a veggie or two, even Sautee them first, chop finely, then put them in sandwiches, (if you have to try to sneak veggies into which I do). Or what about chicken nuggets? Cut some chicken breasts, roll them in plain yogurt, then roll them in crushed grains (virtually all smooth grains like corn flakes or Cheerios or even just use bread crumbs or crushed crackers), then bake on a sprayed cookie sheet at 350 to 375 for 20-25 minutes … I estimate that my lumps of varying size each time, so it cooks differently each time. Then offer ranch, BBQ sauce, etc. You can also add a bit of Italian spices, grains, if your kids will not mind. Would you guys like pizza? I looooove to Pillsbury's hot roll mix (found by Bisquick) – it is really quick and delicious to make homemade crust in this way. A box is $ 1.64 and makes two crusts around 10 to 12 inches across. Seriously, like 10 minutes max for homemade crust. Add jarred pizza sauce (I sometimes just use spaghetti sauce), and whatever ornaments and cheese you'd like. You can chop veggies as above and set them in the sauce before the cheese or cold cuts, if you wish. How about burritos? You can adapt them to children and adults, optional filler ornaments can refried beans, whole beans, ground beef, grilled chicken, even fish (tillapia or cod?), salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, all kinds of cheese, jalepenos, chopped onions (regular or green onions) … each person could build their own.

Worn to a frazzle by her job at trendy "Glow" magazine, straitlaced J.J. Jenner (Carly Pope) is gratified when her boss offers her the job of writing an important food column–but only if she can finish a decent article within a two-week deadline, which will fall upon Christmas Eve. Impeding J.J.`s potential success is the breakup of her current romance, and especially the unannounced arrival of her freewheeling mother Lee (Christine Baranski), former hippie and lifelong chorus girl. To get her well-meaning but annoying mom out of her hair, and to assure that the food-column job will definitely be hers, J.J. enters into an arrangement with publicity-hungry restaurant owner Alex (Bobby Cannavale), wherein he will date Lee in exchange for a glowing review of his eating establishment. Suffice to say that things don`t quite turn out as either J.J. or Alex originally planned. Produced for the Lifetime cable channel,RECIPE FOR A PERFECT CHRISTMAS debuted December 5, 2005.

Jerry A. Fodor presents a new development of his famous Language of Thought hypothesis, the idea that thinking is couched in a symbolic system realized in the brain; since the 1970s this has been at the centre of debate about how the mind works. No one who studies the mind can ignore Fodor's views, expressed in his coruscating and provocative style. – ;Jerry A. Fodor presents a new development of his famous Language of Thought hypothesis, which has since the 1970s been at the centre of interdisciplinary debate about how the mind works. Fodor defends and extends the groundbreaking idea that thinking is couched in a symbolic system realized in the brain. This idea is central to the representational theory of mind which Fodor has established as a key reference point in modern philosophy, psychology, and cognitive science. The. foundation stone of our present cognitive science is Turing's suggestion that cognitive processes are not associations but computations; and computation requires a language of thought. So the latest on the Language of Thought hypothesis, from its progenitor, promises to be a landmark in the study of the mind. LOT 2 offers a more cogent presentation and a fuller explication of Fodor's distinctive account of the mind, with various intriguing new features. The central role of compositionality in the representational theory of mind is revealed: most of what we know about concepts follows from the compositionality of thoughts. Fodor shows the necessity of a referentialist. account of the content of intentional states, and of an atomistic account of the individuation of concepts. Not least among the new developments is Fodor's identification and persecution of pragmatism as the leading source of error in the study of the mind today. LOT 2 sees Fodor advance undaunted towards the ultimate goal of a theory of the cognitive mind, and in particular a theory of the intentionality of cognition. No one who works on the mind can ignore Fodor's views, expressed in the coruscating and provocative style which has delighted and disconcerted countless readers over the years. – ;It is a rare contemporary philosopher whom one looks forward to reading. Fodor is such an exception…long may Fodor enlighten and entertain us. – John Collins The Philosophers' Magazine
