What European country has the easiest immigration policies for U.S. citizens?
What European country has the easiest, least stressful, immigration policies for U.S. citizens? I've looked to Ireland because of the language is English, but politics seems to work only if I can get a job, and only if the employer can not find anyone else within the EU as a suitable fit. Unfortunately, I have worked in marketing research and I feel that there are plenty of British citizens who can fill the position as advertising and consumerism is very strong there. The cost of living is not much of a problem as I have lived in some of the most expensive cities in the U.S., like New York. I am aware that before you go anywhere, you should visit the country and speak with an embassy. Thank you.
Yes and no. There is a way to get around the whole company with an EU citizen. You are an American and speaks American English. This happens also to be accepted Business English. Not a huge difference, but an employer who wants to use it, and there is no something the EU can do about it. Germany has it all the time. I studied German and one of my professors worked as a translator. Lots of Germans speak English but not American English. She was also very liberal. She said that she camped in Germany during the Reagan years. The same rules applied then as now. So I'm not saying give up. If you have a degree from a German university, you are entitled to stay. Still, you have no idea how well respected American universities are here. Use it to your advantage.
