Cross stitch: Are there any ways to make it faster?
I know it sounds like a silly question! But when I read cross stitch patterns leaves me always amazed at how quickly people seem to complete things! I'm currently working on a surprise cross-stitch patterns of a wedding photograph a gift for my husband for our cotton (2nd) anniversary, and if I could make it a bit faster it would be a massive help! All tips received joy! Thanks! Thanks for the answer – I just thought I would mention that I am not a beginner … nowhere near in fact, I've been compared sewing for about 8 years:)
I is a member of a yahoo cross stitch patterns group taught me some good tips. They taught me how to network from my aida with a quilters pen in 10×10 mesh squares. Have a small 10×10 grid on a time. You do every color in the network before moving on to the next grid. You "park" your stitches. When you finish off a color in the network not cut your thread, you go to the next network and bring your needle up where this color will be the next net. Pull the needle out and move to your original network and repeat.You need to ensure you find your center and have your grid lines match up with a grid of lines on your pattern. You will see progress much faster, and I'm really loving this way of doing it. Seems I get so much faster.
