My wife and I are in our early 30s and has been married eight years since college. My wife has always complained about my look at women online or in magazines. She threw a Maxim I had recently purchased. I respect her feelings and have avoided it here As much as I can, although I like sometimes. One thing bothers me is that over Christmas she told me she wants me to get in shape and also got me a subscription to Men's Health. I have enjoyed the magazine and has worked out, but I have realized that she has been "using" the magazine itself when I'm not home. She can read it, but confessed when I asked her that she likes the cover and pictures inside best. Is it fair? If she can look at these things, why can not I? I wish to bring it up to her again in the discussion, but I do not want to do it without having thought about it. Is it different for a woman to do this than for a man? If yes, how do I handle this?
thomas-the first thing to know about women. They are very emotional creatures. they relate only to everything they are exposed to emotions. when you're out and about or simply watching TV what do your wife do? she was not commenting on another woman looks like? they constantly compare themselves to images or other women they have seen or know. so they think and analyze everything they "feel" is wrong with them and that is why they are constantly asking their significant other issues "believe you I'm still pretty or do you think other women beautiful?" UNFAIR question the other there. anyway, when you look at pictures in magazines or posters or anything that has a beautiful woman on it so unless your daughter is safe with yourself and your relationship so yes she is gonna put the quilt trip things about you or in your case throw your $ h! t out. Most times they live and operate on double standards that we guys do not understand. but here is where I see her twist with you. she got you to work on your looks for her, and you do it with little to no problem right? ask her to work out. (See more like the beautiful girl in the mag.) See what kind of response you get. bottom line it is not fair, but if you love your wife and she loves you so talk to her and reassure her that you want her, but you enjoy mags. and it should be a two way street. if she can look at your mags. with the hot guys in it, then you should be able to watch your mags. hope this works for you. good luck and if necessary e-mail me and we can discuss further.
