So you know how in any movie or TV show involving witches, the undead, or witchcraft, there is a scene where the protagonist stumbles on the occult part of his or her local library and uncover some dusty old text? Well, apparently, I have found it is not so easy. I know that these fictional accounts I am referring, but I'm desperately curious to find the real world equivalents. But when I google occult bookstore, what I find are places carries books on yoga and make herbal Light – It is not really what I'm after. I'm looking for some really dark things I basically try to understand the causes of the occult and magical practices and devil worship (for research purposes), and the earlier source, the better. So my question – Make the kind of books really exist? And where can I find them?
Try The Golden Bough by James Frazer. This book is one of the largest single works analyze the fundamental logic behind the many magical systems exist in the world. "Dark things" you're looking for does not exist in reality. Everything you will find are books designed to titillate people, similar to horror books. Books written to sell books, where most of the content is made up on the spot. The Satanic Bible, Necronomicon and even Aleister Crowley's writings are virtually new inventions, things dressed up to sound old and creepy. If you really want to know of historical magic, not just ripped off of new age witches who publish anything for cash, try anthropology, folklore, and religion sections. The larger the library, better. You can find the right books on various cults and religions, rather than fictional accounts. You can find contemporary accounts of people pulling out hypnosis, spiritualism, and various parlor tricks to make people believe in magic. When you take on the modern Jokers, you get a pretty good idea of how the old jokers did. You can read what we actually know about the various alternative religions as gnosticism, Manicheanism, wicca, Kaballah etc., have usually been the focus of a lot of "magic" sects and groups.
