A long time ago I saw an ad for an early 90s Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, and it said the car had a 351 Windsor. I think it's the only thing I have ever seen, and I was wondering if they ever made one with that engine. I thought it was such cool, a 'plain Jane' Crown Vic with a 351 Windsor. Moreover, if you know anything about these cars:-How fast are they?-Does the fuel injected or carburated?-How many horsepower / torque do they have?-are relatively rare? I appreciate it, thanks a lot!

From model years 1986 to 1991 the engine options for Crown Victoria / Grand Marquis was a 5.0L (302) SEFI V8 or a 5.8L (351) V8 2bbl. However, most equipped with 5.0L (302) SEFI engine. My understanding is that the 5.8L (351) V8 was not much more powerful than the 5.0L (302) V8 because of the limitations of his 2bbl "variable venturi" fuel setup, up to and including 1991 model years. Horsepower and torque numbers were also dependent on whether the vehicle was equipped with single or dual exhaust. About Police Interceptor models they were all equipped with dual exhaust, auxiliary engine oil, power steering and transmission fluid coolers. As well, the police models equipped with a powerful AOD transmission, which does not allow manual first gear selection. Police models were also fitted with a "certified calibration" speedometer registering up to 140 km / h (220 km / h). Hope this helps.
